Where are your products made?
Our entire product line is manufactured in the United States at GMP Certified facilities that uphold the highest standards for dietary supplement production. We use one of the largest and most trusted GMP facilities in Colorado for our CBD production and a GMP Certified lab in our home state of Florida for the encapsulation of our herbal blends.
Where do you source your ingredients?
Our owner, Joel, personally finds and often visits wholesalers and herb farms that specialize in a particular ingredient we need for a specific product. All of our raw materials come from distributors within the United States. We obtain our raw materials from those who cultivate them best and have thorough documentation of their analysis and quality control testing.
What size are your herbal capsules?
We use size 0 vegetable cellulose capsules that are easy to swallow and can hold a minimum of 300 mg of ingredients per capsule.
How many capsules should I take?
Our suggested dosages vary from 2 to 4 capsules per day. Suggested use for each of our products can be found on each specific product page and also on each product label. It may be beneficial to take more than the recommended dosage for some customers, but that decision would need to be reached under the direction of a healthcare professional, particularly for those already taking other medications.
Are your products vegetarian/vegan friendly?
All of our products are suitable for vegetarians/vegans EXCEPT the CBD capsules which contain gelatin. We will be offering a vegetarian version of this product by the end of 2019.
What is the deal with CBD?
At Plant Base, we make it a central focus to only use ingredients that have exemplary track records both with science and the general public. We will not sell a product just to make money or because it’s a fad. The claims and mislabeling we have seen in the market with CBD are common with products rapidly rising in popularity. We will always be transparent about the source, manufacturing and efficacy of our products.
We chose to offer CBD products because we believe in them. The FDA and World Health Organization (WHO) have positive statements on CBD and there is even an FDA approved drug (Epidiolex) for epilepsy that uses CBD as the active ingredient. As far as the health claims surrounding CBD, we don’t believe that anything has been 100% scientifically proven as of 2019 except for uses in treating seizures and related conditions. However, there is overwhelming feedback from the public and some suggestions from new studies that regular CBD use could help with pain relief and also have a relaxing effect.* The National Institutes of Health funding for CBD studies went from zero in 2014 to an estimated $16 million in 2018.
After 35 years of research, scientists have only just begun to understand the importance of the Human Endocannabinoid System (HEcS). The discovery of the HEcS is one of the most important discovery in human physiology in the late Twentieth Century. Research has revealed that the HEcS is responsible for maintaining and controlling the body’s homeostasis, or balanced regulation of every system in the body. It does that through two known receptors called CB1 & CB2.
While the body produces its own endogenous cannabinoids, many scientists suggest that most people are now suffering from “Cannabinoid Deficiency”. Without sufficient cannabinoids in our diet, the HEcS operates at less than peak efficiency, resulting in a general decline in overall health. Supplementing our diets with full spectrum phytocannabinoids may be an essential component to achieving optimal health.*
Those who are new to CBD will likely discover that its negative side effects are almost non-existent. It is a very low risk dietary supplement. Many of our new customers begin with low doses and adjust to reach the desired effect.
